Hi Richard.

It's 20.00hrs on the 3rd of April and I'm just picking you up from Southampton here in Bridlington, East Yorkshire on 40 metres.  I heard you make contact with the Fort Paul station on The Humber Estuary and thought I would let you know you were getting another 30 miles to the North.

Unfortunatly the background noise was a bit overpowering but thats because until I get a decent antenna up I was listening to you on a Kenwood TS530s with just a 20 metre mag mount verticle stood on my dining room floor so although a signal report would be a bit acedemic  you were 4 and 3 going on 5 and 3 with me and fading in and out a bit but that would be due more to my inadequate setup.

Had a look on your website and QRZ.com and was impressed by your portable setup, my main interest will be portable operating when I get organised, mainly from the Yorkshire Wolds, this is due to the very limited scope I have for antennas at home and living in a terraced house with no garden to speak of. Have made a note of your callsign and hope to contact you soon.

Regards, Steve (G6JEF)

Hi Richard,

I'm just listening to your signal on 80m on a short length of wire hanging out of an SDR RX dongle. Your putting a fantastic signal in to me on the far side of the New Forest. Your portable setup is very impressive and the photos on your website of the station down by the beach near Southampton are really something else. I like to do a bit of portable too but the kit I run is nothing like this. I look forward to working you when I'm out.

73,

John.
